Due to ongoing construction, the main location of the Jeffersonville Township Public Library will be closed May 6 – May 21. During this time library shelving will be moved so new flooring can be installed. The library will resume its normal hours of operation on May 22 and will be open Mondays – Saturdays, except Memorial Day.
“This closure is necessary to insure the safety of our patrons during this phase of construction," Acting Director Lori Morgan stated. "We look forward to reopening on May 22 and being able to serve the public once again.”
Library staff greatly appreciate the patience of patrons and feel confident that all the improvements to the library building will be worth the temporary inconvenience. Your Jeffersonville Township Public Library card can be used at both the main library and the Clarksville Branch Library, so please continue to use our Branch location or our 24/7 digital resources available through our website at jefflibrary.org/resources. Any library materials that are due during the period that the library is closed may be returned to the Clarksville Branch Library or the book drops at either location. No fines will be charged on items due during this time period.
This short-term closure will make it possible for the library to be open for their summer reading program, which runs May 20 - August 3, and the summer lunch program for youth ages 0 to 18 which will be available June 3 – July 26. The lunch truck will be at the library on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 12:00 noon – 12:30 p.m. and on Thursdays and Fridays from 11:00 – 11:30 a.m.
